Abstract:
The CSRLP system maintains a digital map database as an up-to-date registrar of all registered slope features in the Hong Kong Territories. This dataset contains attributes of slope features which are identified as cut slope, cut slope with retaining wall, fill slope, fill slope with retaining wall, retaining wall, disturbed terrain, natural terrain with stabilization measures and natural terrain with defence measures. Slope Location Plans (SLP) are the graphical presentations of the registered slopes in digital form and record the shapes and locations of the slope features. Basemap information in the SLPs are supplied by the Land Information Centre (LIC) of the Lands Department.
Purpose:
The CSRLP system provides easy search and inspection of the existing slope location by internal staff.

Attribute accuracy is checked by manual comparison of the hard copy plots with the source. In addition, CSRLP customized software tests the spatial data against a master set of valid slope attributes.

When building topology, all slope boundaries are closed polygons. All slopes' centroid must be enclosed by their associated polygons. Every polygon is associated with an annotation box pointing to it. Annotation texts indicating slope numbers have to be placed inside the boxes. Each polygon is associated with an unique slope number.
